2nd MOTCCS Conference

When to Melaka for the 2nd Conference on Military Operation Theatre and Critical Care Services (MOTCCS)last week. The conference was organised by Hospital Angkatan Tentera Kem Terendak, Melaka.

This is also the 1st time I bring my kids (now 7 smonth old) out of Penang. The journey to Melaka was very smooth, they slept most of the time, woke up for milk and change. We stopped at R&R quite often when they awake. Longest being Sg. Buloh, parents and sons need to treat stomach, about 2 hrs.

Melaka is quite a nice small town to stroll around in the evening. However, we didn't see much, we have to follow William and Bryan's sleeping pattern. The 2nd night we only go out to eat, didn't go other places becouse of the haze. Tried the chicken rice ball, but it is not impressive at all, I still like the normal Hainan chicken rice and Ipoh Nga Choi Kai better. Didn't have time to try the satey celup.

The conference is a little too pack with 4 breakout sessions running simultaneously at a given time. Sometimes it's like 'fish and bear paw' kind of situation, hard to chose which to attend. Quite interesting topics though.

Nexy will be The 3rd NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTENSIVE CARE in Sept 2005. See u ppl there if any You will be there.

PalmOne LifeDrive is here!

PalmOne LifeDrive is here in M'sia now! Played with it in YeapCH's place in Prangin Mall Penang just now.

Sorry for the poor quality photo coz I was in a hurry. Yeap called me when I'm on my way back home from work.

Boys and Gals who are interested in this latest PDA from PalmOne can head to kvpug for the ongoing discussion there. Posted by Hello

This PDA version is written by Dr. Oliver Karam adapted from Prof Frank Shann's 13th edition (not in print yet).

If u download a registered version by paying USD10.00 at www.drugdoses.net , you'll get a registered version lasted till 1st Jan 2007.

Serching for a particular drug is easy. The display is simple and effective.

There are rooms for improvements though: Like Sian in kvpug said, it would be nice if there is a function to add personal notes to any drugs and also a dosing calculator.

I found out that it response to up-down scrolling but not to the center select button of my T5's navigation button. No left-right switching tabs too.

For dosing calculation I usually fire up SnapCal5 which runs in the background of my T5 to do the job. (that's what I do for my free epocrates, didn't register the pro versin which comes with a dosing calculator).

lf you have a PDA (PalmOS or WindowsMobile, not the congenital heart disease), this is worth investing and also a better option for upgrade from 12th ed to 13th.
